This is an unpopulated circuit board you can use to make your own homebrew SNES games, or repair old games that no longer work. You will need to purchase components and solder them to the board yourself. You can find all the information you need to assemble, configure, and program this board at my GitHub: https://github.com/MouseBiteLabs/Super-Nintendo-Cartridges/tree/main/Basic%20UV

This cartridge covers a large portion of the SNES library, capable of any standard cartridge but not those with co-processors, such as SA-1 or SuperFX. You can backup games onto it with the following settings:

  • HiROM and LoROM memory maps
  • Up to 4 MB of ROM space
  • Up to 128 KB of RAM space

This board has three options for memory chips:

  • 27C801 for making 1MB (or 8Mbit) games
  • 27C160 for making 2MB (or 16Mbit) games
  • Supports the original SNES ROM pinout for either using the original ROM chip from another board, or for using TSOP adapters for making up to 4MB (or 32Mbit) games

This board is generally the best option for games that are 2MB or smaller. If you want to use 27C322 for 4MB games, make ExHiROM games, or make multicarts, you can use the Advanced UV board.

You can find example builds at the wiki page of the GitHub: https://github.com/MouseBiteLabs/Super-Nintendo-Cartridges/wiki/Basic-UV

This project is open source, so if you would like to order your own from the PCB manufacturer of your choice, the files are available in the GitHub repository. Just be sure to match the exact specifications as listed (thickness, surface finish, etc).
