This is the listing for the bare, unpopulated Game Boy Pocket Color (MGBC) circuit boards. The MGBC is a Game Boy Color fit inside of an Game Boy Pocket shell, with a circuit-level reconstruction using nearly all-modern parts! This is an entirely new PCB of my own design.
This listing is for the main board ONLY. You will need to purchase a power board separately, like the Pocket Mouse Power Board.
Full information on the build, including a full list of parts required to build it, and information regarding the power board, can be found at my github here, which you ABSOLUTELY MUST read through before taking on this project: https://github.com/MouseBiteLabs/Game-Boy-Pocket-Color
What you will receive is one single bare circuit board. You must populate this board yourself. (Do not ask me to do it for you.) Please keep these things in mind before you purchase:
1) This project is ONLY for those who are skilled enough to assemble and troubleshoot advanced circuit boards. This is NOT a beginner, or even an intermediate project. This is for only those with advanced experience in circuit board assembly.
2) This project REQUIRES a donor Game Boy Color to complete. You need to remove the CPU and RAM to transfer to this board. You do not need a Game Boy Pocket.
3) Due to the complexity of the project, I cannot obligate myself to helping you troubleshoot any errors you may encounter. The GitHub repo has a lot of information that can help you out, but advanced troubleshooting skills are highly recommended.
4) You NEED to read the GitHub repository BEFORE purchasing to make sure you understand the scope of this project.
5) I am not responsible for any damage to you or your property if you choose to attempt this project.
If you purchase this board, you accept all of these risks. If you are even the smallest bit unsure if you are able to complete this project, to get an idea of how difficult it is, I recommend attempting to assemble the Pocket Mouse Power Board first. It will give you an idea of the complexity of the project, without using any original Game Boy parts.
This project is open source, so if you would like to order your own from the PCB manufacturer of your choice, the files are available in the GitHub repository. Just be sure to match the exact specifications as listed (thickness, surface finish, etc).
